With more than 200 galleries, 1,300 artists, and 36 countries, ARCOmadrid 2025 solidifies its position as a global benchmark for contemporary art. From March 5 to 9, IFEMA Madrid will host this cutting-edge event, with the Amazon as its central project.

After a successful 2024 edition marked by record attendance and sales, ARCOmadrid 2025 returns stronger than ever, solidifying its position as one of the most important contemporary art events globally. With its innovative vision and top-tier projects, the fair promises to be a unique experience to immerse oneself in the latest trends, explore new perspectives, and, above all, enjoy the vibrant international art scene.

This year, 206 galleries from 36 countries will participate, showcasing works by over 1,300 artists. With the presence of both Spanish and international galleries, ARCOmadrid 2025 will offer a rich exchange between creators and collectors from around the world. Additionally, the growing presence of Latin American galleries and artists will further strengthen its role as a key platform for contemporary art from the region.

WHERE AND WHEN?

Halls 7 and 9 of IFEMA Madrid will host ARCOmadrid 2025, turning the venue into a hub for contemporary art from March 5 to 9. The initial days are dedicated to professionals, while the general public is welcome starting March 7 at 3:00 PM. Opening hours are from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with the event closing earlier on Sunday at 6:00 PM.

WHAT AWAITS YOU?

For this new edition of ARCOmadrid 2025, the Barcelona-based studio mesura has been chosen to design the Guest Lounge, a space that combines contemporary aesthetics and functionality. The winning project draws inspiration from the symbolic elements of the Amazon rainforest, creating a visual and creative narrative that aligns with the fair's central theme. This design not only reflects ARCOmadrid's philosophy but also provides a space for rest, socializing, and dining. MESURA has transformed the Guest Lounge into a place that invites both reflection and enjoyment, seamlessly blending art, architecture, and comfort.

At ARCOmadrid 2025, visitors will have the opportunity to explore an outstanding selection of national and international galleries showcasing works by renowned contemporary artists.

Among the participating national galleries are Elvira González, celebrated for representing artists like Eduardo Chillida; Elba Benítez, presenting works by contemporary Spanish artists; and Galería Senda, a pioneer in contemporary art in Barcelona.

On the international stage, highlights include Galerie Lelong (France), featuring pieces by artists such as Barthélémy Toguo; Thaddaeus Ropac (Austria), renowned for representing prominent contemporary artists; and Perrotin (France), showcasing works by both emerging and established international artists.

THE AMAZON TAKES CENTER STAGE

Alongside the General Program, ARCOmadrid 2025 introduces three curated sections, with the Amazon project taking center stage under the title Wametisé: Ideas for an Amazofuturism. Curated by Denilson Baniwa and María Wills, in collaboration with the Institute for Postnatural Studies, this program delves into new modes of creation, blending hybrid existences between the human, vegetal, physical, and metaphysical realms.

The program will feature 24 distinguished artists, including Carlos Jacanamijoy, represented by Almine Rech, marking the gallery’s return to the fair since 1999; Naine Terena and the Coletivo Mahku, showcased by Carmo Johnson Projects; and Dhiani Pa'saro, Duhigó, and Paulo Desana, presented by Manaus Amazônia, a first-time exhibitor at ARCOmadrid.

Notable participants also include Claudia Andujar (Vermelho), Carlos Motta (Mor Charpentier), and emerging talents like Chonon Bensho and Brus Rubio (80 m2 Livia Benavides). Collectives and renowned creators such as Mapa Teatro (Rolf Art) and Juan Downey (1 Mira Madrid) will also be present, with their galleries featured in both this program and the General Program, further enriching the fair’s offerings.

OPENING | NEW GALLERIES

ARCOmadrid 2025 will showcase the most cutting-edge emerging galleries, both national and international. Curated by Cristina Anglada and Anissa Touati, this program promises to reveal fresh and innovative proposals that are shaping the future of contemporary art. Among the selected galleries for this year, El Chico, a key player in the Madrid art scene, and Espacio Continuo, a Colombian gallery offering a unique and dynamic perspective on Latin American art, stand out. With these and other galleries, Opening becomes an unmissable event for collectors and art enthusiasts seeking what’s new, disruptive, and set to define the upcoming trends in the global art market.

PERFILES | LATIN AMERICAN ART

This section will continue to strengthen the historical connection between ARCOmadrid and Latin American art. Curated by José Esparza Chong Cuy, it will feature a carefully selected group of prominent artists, each represented by a single gallery. This year, the section delves into the contemporary practices of key artists, consolidating their presence on the international scene. With the participation of renowned galleries such as Isla Flotante, representing artist Mariela Scafati, Perfiles highlights the diversity and cultural richness of the region, showcasing how Latin American art continues to have a significant influence on the global stage.

 

A WEALTH OF ARTISTIC PROPOSALS TO EXPLORE, REFLECT AND PROMOTE COLLECTING
