Song Tao, born in Shanghai in 1969, graduated in 1986 from the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts, majoring in graphic design and painting. In 1993, he earned a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. In 1994, he founded TAO Gallery, curating exhibitions for numerous contemporary Chinese artists. In 1995, he established Song Tao Design Studio, focusing on art posters, furniture design, bookbinding, and interior design. In 2002, he founded Zizhao Society, becoming China’s first designer brand. In 2009, he founded O-GALLERY. In 2019, he launched YUAN MUSEUM in Beijing, representing renowned domestic and international artists and designers.
