With an ambition to sculpt the "seat" into a timeless monument, we commemorate humanity’s enduring history of sitting. To achieve this symbiotic relationship with time, we embraced radical conceptual minimalism. ISCHIUM STOOL is a functional sculpture born from the hybridization of "seating object" and "human exo - skeleton", embodying the fusion of ergonomics and poetic form.

CARLOS CHEN DESIGN was founded in 2018 in Hangzhou by designer Carlos Chen, a creative mind driven by curiosity and a multidisciplinary approach. His work is grounded in observing the world from multiple angles, uncovering connections and perspectives that lead to the most precise and effective design solutions.
The studio’s philosophy is to design for both the present and the future, free from the constraints of passing trends. In 2025, CARLOS CHEN DESIGN took part in the prestigious SaloneSatellite, the emerging designers’ platform within the renowned Salone del Mobile Milano. This participation positioned the studio among the most promising voices in contemporary Chinese design, showcasing its distinctive vision to an international audience of collectors, curators, and industry leaders. SaloneSatellite is globally recognized as a launchpad for innovative talent, and Carlos Chen’s presence underlined his commitment to pushing the boundaries of collectible design on a global stage.
