About the artist
SAMSON WANG
Samson Wang graduated in 2011 from Canadore College (Canada), specializing in Aircraft Electronics and Structural Repair, and worked for several years in the aircraft maintenance industry. In 2015, he resumed his studies and graduated in 2019 from Sheridan College (Canada) with a degree in Furniture Craft and Design.
In 2018, he established his own studio in Canada, focusing on original, handcrafted wooden art furniture. He is currently based in Beijing.
A perfectionist by nature, Samson Wang places strong emphasis on detail and maintains a deep passion for woodworking. His work incorporates distinctive Chinese elements while remaining rooted in a design philosophy centered on personal expression.
His strength lies in the integration of craftsmanship and design methodology within the creative process. He creates through reflection and refines through making, continuously evolving each piece through iteration and critical thinking.
His years of experience in the aviation industry have given him a profound understanding of structure and materials, resulting in works that are both structurally coherent and logically resolved.
An advocate of functionalist principles, he approaches visual balance with a unique perspective and pursues excellence in craftsmanship with precision and rigor. His inspiration draws from a deep appreciation for nature and culture, a sensitivity to diverse design languages, and a strong respect for traditional craftsmanship.
