Otus coffee table | MAXIME HALOT

€0.00

The Otus Coffee Table by Maxime Halot is a sculptural statement piece defined by fluid geometry and architectural tension. Handcrafted in Belgium, its continuous folded form creates a dynamic silhouette that shifts between lightness and monumentality.
Finished in natural metal, the surface reveals a mineral depth that changes with light, giving the table a refined, stone-like presence. The double-level design offers both visual rhythm and functional versatility through open shelving and negative space.
As with all Halot’s collectible design pieces, Otus embodies structural purity, sculptural balance and material sensitivity. Fully customizable in dimensions, it is designed for luxury interiors, gallery environments and bespoke residential or hospitality projects.

About the artist

MAXIME HALOT

Maxime Halot is a Brussels-based furniture designer whose work stands at the intersection of art and craftsmanship. His research delves into the intricate possibilities of metal processing, where he pushes the boundaries of shaping, surface treatment, and material manipulation. Through innovative bending and assembly techniques, Halot infuses his creations with light, flowing curves that invite multiple interpretations, offering both visual and tactile intrigue.

Drawing from his deep understanding of architectural forms, Halot’s sculptural furniture is brought to life through the use of custom-designed tools, resulting in works that challenge the viewer's perception of balance. His designs are a constant dialogue between contrasts—lightness and heaviness, fullness and emptiness—creating pieces that feel both monumental and ethereal.

In his latest explorations, Maxime Halot experiments with the oxidation of steel, elevating a commonplace material to new artistic heights. By embracing the inherent instability of oxidation techniques, he allows the material to take on a life of its own, unveiling unexpected colors, textures, and organic patterns. These unpredictable results lend his creations a raw, natural beauty, blurring the lines between the man-made and the organic, and further solidifying his unique voice in contemporary design.
