CARLOS CHEN DESIGN was founded in 2018 in Hangzhou by designer Carlos Chen, a creative mind driven by curiosity and a multidisciplinary approach. His work is grounded in observing the world from multiple angles, uncovering connections and perspectives that lead to the most precise and effective design solutions.
The studio’s philosophy is to design for both the present and the future, free from the constraints of passing trends. Each creation pursues the purest form of design expression, where proportions, materials, and purpose coexist in perfect equilibrium. This results in objects that are timeless in essence yet forward-looking in concept.
Through a language that is both minimal and emotionally resonant, CARLOS CHEN DESIGN crafts furniture and objects that invite reflection, embody cultural sensitivity, and embrace a global perspective. Within EAST WEST SPACE, his work finds a natural dialogue with other collectible design voices, offering a unique bridge between contemporary Chinese creativity and the international design scene.
In 2025, CARLOS CHEN DESIGN took part in the prestigious SaloneSatellite, the emerging designers’ platform within the renowned Salone del Mobile Milano. This participation positioned the studio among the most promising voices in contemporary Chinese design, showcasing its distinctive vision to an international audience of collectors, curators, and industry leaders.
