La Llaona, Orangebi, 2017 | TON RIMBAU

€0.00

“La Llaona-OrangeBi” Xarel·lo 2017 is a quietly powerful and meticulously crafted expression of Ton Rimbau’s Porcellànic philosophy, shaped by lunar rhythms, mature vines and slow, intuitive winemaking. Hand-harvested during the waning and decreasing moon on fruit days, the grapes undergo two weeks of maceration with the skins, including 25% whole clusters, at ambient temperature. A gentle 50% soft press follows, preserving purity while extracting the deep, textural nuance that defines this orange interpretation of Xarel·lo. Fermentation unfolds naturally with indigenous yeasts, and spontaneous malolactic fermentation adds breadth, softness and inner harmony.

Sourced from a vineyard planted in 1984 in the high landscapes of Guardiola de Font-rubí (Penedès), the wine carries the imprint of mature Xarel·lo vines rooted in mineral-rich soils. As with all Porcellànic wines, its final evolution takes place in a ceramic bottle that protects it from sunlight and ensures a silent, stable ageing environment—an essential element of Rimbau’s method that preserves the integrity of this highly sensitive wine.

The result is a natural, oxidative-leaning Xarel·lo with remarkable textural depth and aromatic amplitude: structured, gently tannic, savory and profoundly expressive. It offers a contemplative, layered interpretation of premium Catalan natural wine, balancing the generosity of extended skin contact with the tension and precision that define the Porcellànic universe.

About the artist

TON RIMBAU

Ton Rimbau develops his work at the intersection of viticulture, ecology and artistic creation, exploring how living systems, natural cycles and human intention converge to form a liquid expression of place. His practice is articulated through three conceptual lines: “Organic Continuums,” “Materia Viva,” and “The Liquid Archive,” where he investigates the dialogue between landscape, transformation and sensory perception.

In “Organic Continuums,” Rimbau treats the vineyard as a self-regulating ecosystem, allowing biodiversity, soil organisms and climate to shape the vines with minimal intervention. In “Materia Viva,” he views fermentation as an active creative force, working with clay vessels, submerged aging and silent, controlled environments that heighten the individuality of each vintage. Finally, “The Liquid Archive” reflects on wine as a repository of memory, where each bottle preserves the traces of a season, a landscape and a moment in time.

Although these three areas remain an evolving investigation, Rimbau’s work is defined by a deep sensitivity to the living world and a commitment to transforming natural processes into expressive forms. His wines, always singular and profoundly connected to their origin, function as sensorial artworks that reveal movement, emotion and the passage of time.

As the official distributor of Ton Rimbau’s creations, EAST WEST SPACE offers a place where his wines can be tasted, discovered and understood within a broader artistic context. Through this collaboration, his unique production becomes accessible to a global audience seeking experiences that unite art, nature and contemporary creation.
