A single carved leg—evocative of 18th-century furniture—supports an otherwise radically linear structure, creating a visual tension that defines the identity of the piece.
This chair does not aim to blend styles, but to place them in direct conversation. The sharp, architectural planes highlight the delicate curve of the solitary leg, while the stepped silhouette of the backrest becomes a subtle reference to traditional craftsmanship. ENIGMA | ABOUT THE DESIGN

Enigma serie is conceived as an architectural gesture that challenges the logic of the chair itself. MINIMAL STUDIO approaches the piece as a deliberate collision of two worlds: the precision of contemporary minimalism and the ornamental vocabulary of classical furniture. Instead of blending these languages, the designer isolates them—reducing the structure to clean, linear planes while allowing a single carved leg to disrupt the composition.

This tension becomes the core of the design. The chair’s silhouette reads as both stable and fragile, rational and emotional. The stepped outline on the backrest introduces a quiet rhythm, while the stark black finish turns the object into a shadow-like presence, intensifying the chair’s sculptural clarity. Every element is stripped to its essentials, yet the piece retains a sense of narrative—an echo of cultural memory reframed through modern geometry.

Minimal Studio, founded by David Martínez Jofre, is committed to elevating the quality of project execution to the same level as design and decoration.
