Dominique Christian Jan Masullo, born in Belgium to an Italian father and a Belgian mother, is an artist deeply influenced by the intersection of cultures and personal memories. While his roots are European, Dominique often describes his dreams and creative visions as originating “elsewhere,” reflecting a universal yet deeply personal approach to his art.
Although he began his artistic journey with no prior knowledge of ceramics, he was quickly captivated by the medium’s unpredictability and organic essence. For Dominique, ceramics is more than a material—it is a living, vibrating force. He views the creative process as an act of giving life to inert matter, transforming clay into works that pulse with energy and emotion. Over the years, he has refined his ability to push the boundaries of the medium, making it resonate and come alive through his hands.
Dominique’s art is a continuous exploration of sculpture’s evolving possibilities. He embraces ceramics as a means of experimenting with form, often blurring the lines between functional objects and abstract sculpture. Everyday items are reimagined, transcending their utilitarian purpose to become dynamic, changeable works of art.
His pieces reflect an intimate dialogue between materiality and imagination, challenging conventional notions of what ceramics and sculpture can be. Dominique’s work invites the viewer to experience not just the object itself but the vibrancy and life infused within it—a testament to his belief that art has the power to transform and redefine our relationship with the world around us.
