About the brand

SING CHAN

Chen Xingyu, designer and founder of SING CHAN DESIGN, was born in Panyu, a once-thriving port now faded by urbanization. His childhood unfolded among hills, rivers, and old workshops of craftsmanship and maintenance—an environment that ignited his fascination with architecture, light, and materiality.

From his studio in Guangzhou, Xingyu explores the relationship between history and contemporary design, questioning the loss of cultural identity amid modernization. His work extends beyond mere functionality; each piece serves as a bridge between civilizations and eras, a response to the evolving spaces we inhabit.

Believing that light is a vessel of memory and form, his approach blends research, material experimentation, and structural precision. His creations—whether lighting, furniture, or sculptural pieces—do not seek to preserve history in a static way but to propel it forward, fostering a continuous dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and avant-garde design.

Sing Chan's works stand as luminous testaments to a philosophy that transcends time. Objects that not only illuminate but also narrate stories, connecting the past, present, and future through design.
