PABLO LEONARDO
About the artist
Pablo Leonardo, born in Havana, Cuba, in 1961, has lived and worked in Barcelona since 1966. He studied Sculptural Procedures at the Escola Superior de Disseny i Art Llotja. Initially combining sculpture with graphic design, he has explored materials like iron, resin, and fiberglass, though wood has become his preferred medium. His work focuses on geometric abstraction, highlighting the organic qualities of his materials.
Pablo’s art reflects a deep admiration for the past, transforming it into something new through knowledge. His first solo exhibition took place in 1996 at the Safia Gallery in Barcelona, showcasing sculptures that contrasted the transparency of resins with the rigidity of iron.
From an early age, his creativity was nurtured, with his first solo exhibition organized by his mother when he was 9. His work continues to evolve, guided by the belief that art is a mental projection of the unknown, stored in harmonic disorder. This philosophy defines his sculptural journey and solidifies his distinctive voice in contemporary art.
